The Vatican headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church, just released an 18 page document entitled "Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems in the Context of a Global Public Authority,” stated that economies around the world should have an "ethic of solidarity" and that the standard should be held between rich and poor nations alike.
In this document, the Vatican called upon the United Nations to be the sole authority in the implementation of a "supranational authority" ( The European Union is a supranational authority, so the Vatican is eluding to a global union or some larger overriding authority when it refers to this.) Please read Wikipedia's definition of this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supranational_union
According to this document, time is of the essence, because of the global monetary crisis and the violence it has created across much of the Middle East and Europe. The document also stated that national sovereignty should be scraped in many countries as economic policies are replaced by many of these nations. This would essentially mean that countries around the world would merge their bank accounts in an effort to alleviate any financial pressures or possible wars that may occur, such as in the case of WWI and WWII, just to name a few.
